The X- Files [Fan-Fic Guide]

THE X– FILES: OBSTRUCTION OF TRUTH [FAN-FIC GUIDE]
I. CHARACTER PROFILES(* New characters)
1.) Special Agent John Doggett:
First introduced to the X– Files when leading a Special Task Force in search of the abducted Mulder (September 2000). His career is marked with commendations as a Marine and a Detective in the New York Police Department. Being skeptic of the paranormal, his eyes are soon opened to “strange” occurrences when he is assigned to work with Dana Scully on the X– Files.
2.) Special Agent Dana Scully:
Once a full time medical doctor and instructor at the FBI Academy in Virginia, Scully was originally assigned watchdog duty over a fellow agent (Mulder) in order to investigate an unassigned project dubbed “The X– Files”, a burial ground for mysterious, unsolved FBI cases linked to the paranormal. As her investigation of the X– Files furthers, so does her interest in the content of the unsolved cases. From that point on (1993), she has worked on the X– Files and has provided substantial scientific research contributing to many solved cases.
In May of 2000, she discovered she was pregnant with Mulder’s child and that her son (William) had special powers (due to Scully’s abduction years previous). In 2002, Scully gave her child up to a family, in an attempt to keep William safe from Aliens and a breed of human called Super-Soldiers.
3.) Fox Mulder:
Due to his obsessive persistence of the truth, the once FBI Agent, has made many enemies in high places. Nowadays he works undercover, lending a helping hand in certain cases he finds relevant to exposing alien existence.
4.) Special Agent Monica Reyes:
Worked with Agent Doggett on his son’s murder case. They later reunited to find Mulder after his abduction. She has also filled in for Scully on several occasions as she was pregnant with William.
5.) A.D. Walter Skinner:
The Assistant Director of the FBI Headquarters in Quantico. Has a heavy involvement with the X– Files.
*6.) James Harris:
“The Town Nut”. In his early sixties, James, seemingly senile, knows a great deal of the alien existence. He will act as a guide to the agents in search of the truth.
*7.) Detective Brian Gibson:
The Mayberry Detective who is rather secretive, yet assists the agents in the search for truth.
8.) Jeffrey Spender:
Son of the Cigarette Smoking Man. Holds key information to alien existence.
9.) Deputy Director Kersh:
The Deputy Director of the FBI Headquarters in Quantico. For the most part, he finds the X– Files to be untrue.
II. QUESTIONS
Q. Do you have to know a lot about the X– Files in order to follow the story?
A. No, not at all. All you need to know about the series is what was posted above (I. Character Profiles). In fact, I’m not a strong follower of the series... I used to watch it, then stopped, then watched again. If you want more X– Files information, go to http://www.thexfiles.com.
Q. Does this story follow the events after the Series Finale?
A. Once again, No. The Series Finale brought up a lot of questions as to whether the X– Files still existed or not, which is why I’m throwing that particular episode out from this series.
Q. Will this be an ongoing fan-fic series?
A. Yes. I have decided to make an X–Files series for fan-fiction. I am still in the process of writing “Obstruction of Truth”, but once it is complete, I will be fleshing out a plot for the next installment, which will NOT involve aliens, but rather some other paranormal activity. I will be supervising the fan-fic as another author writes it.
Q. Any idea of who might be the next author in the series?
A. Not as of yet. But I will be asking around... People I have been looking towards are Jurassiclaw, Parasaur.w, or Carnotaur3 mainly because they all excel at writing. I have also been looking in Yvonne’s direction as her stories consist of decent dialogue and seeing the star treatment she’s been getting lately, that might be just what we need to promote an X– File fan-fic. But officially, no an author has not been appointed yet. Expect to see an announcement no later than late June, early July.
III. THE PLOT
After Monica Reyes turns up missing, Agents John Doggett and Dana Scully investigate. With the X– Files in jeopardy, Mulder assists in the search for the FBI Agent, while investigating a case of his own. Little do they know, their search for an FBI Agent will lead them to an ancient secret that is set loose after a reported UFO crashed in the woods of Mayberry, Virginia.
IV. FURTHER INFORMATION
This fan-fic’s tentative release date is JULY 19, 2002. It will be released in parts: JUNE 8th –– PART I; JUNE 29th ––PART II; and JULY 19th –– PART III. Various trailers will be posted throughout the time span as will Author Interviews, Posters, etc. I hope your looking forward to further updates on the story and the story itself.

“THAT WILL UNVEIL THE LONG AWAITED TRUTH...”

Doggett: What are you saying?
Scully: I’m saying... maybe we’re searching for a truth that was never meant to be uncovered.

Harris: Your dealing with something that’s higher than the FBI, HIGHER than the military, HIGHER than our own government!
Mulder: It’s taken me over ten years to get at the point I’m at now and I’m not letting this go... NOT when I’m this close to the truth.
“THE TRUTH...”
